Your Team Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated Associate Software Developer to join our Market Data team, working on next-generation solutions for the 3rd Party Benchmark Portfolio. As a member of the Development team, you will contribute to building high-performance and scalable services using modern programming languages and technologies. These services provide an efficient and comprehensive gateway into our Indices group.

You will work within a global team of experienced Software Engineers, collaborating with Developers and Testers across multiple locations including Manila, Budapest, Monterrey, San Francisco, and Norman. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their technical skills, learn best practices, and contribute to high-quality software in a collaborative environment.

Candidates should be passionate about software development, eager to learn, and interested in gaining exposure to system design, cloud technologies, and financial data platforms. You will be supported by senior team members and gradually take on increased responsibility. The role also provides opportunities to contribute to the migration of existing systems to Microsoft Azure, making exposure to cloud technologies a strong advantage.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers, Product Management, and Program Management to help translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of a modern platform using current technologies and industry best practices
  • Implement features, fixes, and enhancements under guidance, following established design and coding standards
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with appropriate unit and integration tests
  • Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality
  • Support automated testing and CI/CD pipelines as part of the development process
  • Work within a DevOps model to support monitoring and production processes
  • Assist with software migration efforts to the Azure cloud platform
  • Use development tools such as VS Code, Git, and GitHub Copilot AI assistant
  • Continuously develop technical skills and domain knowledge through learning and mentorship

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

Specific Knowledge / Skills

  • 2–4 years of professional programming experience or equivalent academic/project experience
  • Hands-on experience with Python 3.6+
  • Exposure to or willingness to learn Perl 5.x
  • Ability and eagerness to learn new technologies and frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Basic understanding of software systems and architecture concepts
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle preferred)
  • Experience using Git or similar version control systems
  • Good English communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Azure or another cloud platform
  • Familiarity with modern ETL frameworks
  • Basic knowledge of React.js
  • Exposure to Airflow, Databricks, or similar data platforms
  • Basic understanding of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Interest or introductory experience with LLMs / AI tools

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
