Your Team Responsibilities


The Enterprise Data Warehouse Machine Learning Engineering Team is at the forefront of driving data-driven innovation and operational excellence across MSCI’s business processes. This team is dedicated to developing, delivering, and maintaining advanced insights that enhance business quality and efficiency. By leveraging state-of-the-art techniques in data engineering, machine learning, AI, and business intelligence, the team supports various sectors including coverage, product management, and finance.

Team Level Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain data-driven insights to optimize business processes and improve quality across MSCI.
  • Establish and enhance an analytical framework within the data lakehousing/warehousing center of excellence.
  • Maintain and refine machine learning and AI-focused data processing, augmentation, and insight generation pipelines.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of machine learning models and AI systems through feature engineering, model training, validation, decay analysis, prompt engineering, and AI agentic design.
  • Analyze and formalize business challenges, translating them into executable software projects.
  • Implement and deploy analytical solutions in production environments to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Enhance the software development lifecycle through the application of DEVOPS and MLOPS methodologies.
  • Design and maintain distributed big data and AI computation environments in containerized and cloud settings.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Explore and Analyze New Data Assets: Investigate and evaluate new data sources to enhance the data lakehouse, ensuring they align with business objectives and can provide valuable insights.
  • Prepare Data Acquisition Projects: Design and implement data acquisition strategies to efficiently onboard new data into the lakehouse environment.
  • Establish Feature Engineering and Data Transformation Pipelines: Develop feature engineering techniques and data transformation pipelines to enhance the analytical process and improve model performance.
  • Build, Train, Validate, and Deploy Machine Learning Models: Design, implement, and maintain machine learning models, ensuring they are robust, accurate, and effectively deployed to meet business needs.
  • Build and Deploy AI Agents and Pipelines: Develop and operationalize AI agents and pipelines to automate and optimize data-driven tasks and processes.
  • Build and Deploy BI Models and APIs: Create and implement business intelligence models and APIs to serve as a consumption layer, enabling seamless access to insights and data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintain High-Quality Codebase: Ensure the codebase is well-maintained and adheres to industry best practices, utilizing Python, SQL, and Terraform to achieve efficient and scalable solutions.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

Skills:

Must Have:

  • 5+ Years of Experience: Demonstrated expertise in machine learning engineering or a related field.
  • Strong Python Background: Proficiency in Python for developing robust machine learning and data processing solutions.
  • Strong SQL Background: to design and implement effective feature engineering strategies.

    Nice to Have:
  • CI/CD Pipelines in Azure/GCP: Experience in developing and managing continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines within Azure or GCP environments.
  • Analytical Platform Services in Azure/GCP: Familiarity with analytical services offered by Azure or GCP maintaining the Databricks platform for collaborative data science and analytics.
  • Azure/GCP Environment Management with Terraform: Proficiency in using Terraform for managing infrastructure as code in Azure environments.
  • Experience in Supporting Business Functions: Background in for enhanced data processing and analytics.
  • Databricks Platform Administration/Architectural Design/Unity Catalog: Experience in administering and designing architectures on the Databricks platform.
  • PowerBI Platform Administration/Architectural Design: Proficiency in managing and designing solutions using the PowerBI platform.
  • Azure Environment Management with Terraform: Skilled in using Terraform for managing Azure environments through infrastructure as supporting analytical needs in sales, presales, finance, and product management.
  • MLOps Practices: Knowledge and application of MLOps practices to streamline machine learning workflows and deployment.
  • Containerization and Kubernetes: Experience with containerization technologies and managing applications using Kubernetes for scalable deployment solutions.
