Your Team Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Lead Web UI Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and development of modern web-based applications that support mission-critical business workflows. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for delivering high-performance, scalable, and maintainable frontend solutions while driving engineering excellence across the development team.

The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership, partnering closely with product owners, architects, backend engineers, QA, and operations teams to deliver innovative solutions. This role also plays a key part in evolving engineering practices through AI-assisted software development, modern development workflows, and reusable UI architecture.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-scale web applications using modern frontend technologies.
  • Serve as the technical lead for UI development while remaining actively involved in coding, design reviews, and implementation.
  • Design scalable, reusable UI frameworks and component libraries that promote consistency and accelerate delivery across teams.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and product management to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Drive technical architecture decisions and establish frontend engineering standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.
  • Develop responsive, high-performance user interfaces capable of handling large datasets and real-time data updates.
  • Partner with backend engineering teams to define APIs and integration patterns using RESTful services and WebSocket-based communication.
  • Lead the adoption of AI-assisted software engineering practices, leveraging coding assistants and AI agents to improve developer productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.
  • Mentor and coach software engineers through design discussions, code reviews, technical guidance, and career development.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and platform engineering teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and deployment processes.
  • Support production systems by providing Level 3 investigation and resolution for complex technical issues.
  • Foster collaboration across engineering teams by sharing knowledge, promoting reusable solutions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, risk management, and software governance standards.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience with at least 5 years focused on modern web application development.
  • Proven experience leading technical initiatives while remaining hands-on in software development.
  • Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular, and Node.js.
  • Strong experience building reusable UI components and enterprise frontend architectures.
  • Experience with advanced data grid frameworks such as AG Grid or similar component libraries.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and modern software architecture.
  • Experience integrating applications using RESTful APIs and WebSocket technologies.
  • Experience building highly responsive, real-time applications that process large volumes of data efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, source control, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with GitHub, Jira, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native application development and containerized deployment environments.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants and AI agents to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, ownership, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Electron or other desktop application frameworks built on web technologies.
  • Experience with Python, Java, SQL, and distributed messaging or streaming platforms.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
  • Experience developing applications for financial services, capital markets, or other data-intensive industries.
  • Experience defining technical roadmaps and leading modernization initiatives.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
