Overview

The MSCI Analytics Solutions Delivery team is composed of experienced professionals that provide first-tier services and solutions to our analytics clients around the world.

Currently, the Business Analyst team is present in the following locations: Manila, Monterrey and Mumbai.

The Business Analyst team is responsible for providing predominantly portfolio services and solutions to our clients to support their wide variety of analytic risk reporting, methodology, regulatory, usage and technical needs.

Specialists work directly with clients across all market segments, including hedge funds, banks, brokers, wealth managers, asset managers and pension plans. They analyze client portfolio data and work with a client throughout their on-boarding process, which is organized as an implementation project, that results in a solution for the client that integrates our risk and analytics products into their investment process. Additionally, the specialists work with our technology teams to define and build our client services technology infrastructure.

As a BA, you will serve as a client-facing specialist for MSCI’s Risk Analytics solutions—combining domain expertise, technical acumen, and a mindset oriented toward automation and continuous optimization. This role is ideal for Associates or Senior Associates seeking to deepen their quantitative and technical skill sets, lead sophisticated client engagements, shape product evolution, and strengthen MSCI’s operational excellence.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Solution Design & Workflow Optimization
  • Conduct detailed discovery to understand client objectives, portfolio structures, and analytics requirements, designing scalable solutions aligned to best practices.
  • Partner with Project Managers and Solution Designers to optimize integration pathways and elevate end-to-end user experience.
  • Reengineer workflows to remove manual steps, mitigate operational risks, and drive automation-ready processes.
  • Deliver high-impact early-care training to guide clients’ transition into the MSCI analytics ecosystem.
  1. Data Sourcing, Workflow Configurations & Analytics Validation
  • Educate and align clients on MSCI’s data sourcing standards to ensure high-quality, scalable analytics implementations.
  • Validate portfolio holdings, security reference data, asset classifications, benchmark mappings, and factor exposures.
  • Ensure data completeness, modeling accuracy, and analytical integrity across multi-asset portfolios.
  • Configure client environments, execute test scenarios, and confirm analytics outputs for consistency and reliability.
  • Leverage diagnostics, dashboards, and analytics tools to detect anomalies and proactively remediate data issues.
  1. Automation & AI Adoption
  • Identify automation opportunities across manual or high-risk workflows using scripting, RPA, or AI-enhanced tools.
  • Design or propose automation solutions that accelerate delivery, reduce errors, and enhance client experience.
  • Utilize usage analytics and monitoring dashboards to inform decision-making, strengthen processes, and uncover optimization opportunities.
  • Champion a continuous-improvement culture by promoting technology-enabled innovation across teams and projects.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

Core Competencies

  • Strong analytical capability with a data-driven mindset; comfortable using dashboards, diagnostic tools, and quantitative insights.
  • Ability to think holistically and redesign workflows for scale, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
  • Confidence operating as both an implementation lead and a consultative partner to sophisticated institutional clients.
  • Curiosity and openness to automation technologies—actively seeking ways to enhance delivery using AI, scripting, or RPA.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, multi-asset portfolios, risk methodologies, and performance analytics.
  • Proven experience managing multiple parallel projects in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Advanced certifications (CFA, FRM, PRM) or graduate degrees are a strong advantage.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in analytics, risk systems, or portfolio-technology implementations.
  • Familiarity with MSCI’s analytics suite, risk models, or implementation methodologies is highly desirable.

I was once was fresh out of varsity without a lot of knowledge of finance, so I extend the same grace and understanding to my team. Everyone learns, communicates and connects differently and that’s what makes us stronger. My own mentor always has time to take a call from me and offer guidance, and that support has been life changing, career altering. I want to provide the same for my team.”
