Your Team Responsibilities

The MSCI Analytics Managed Services team is composed of experienced professionals that provide first tier ongoing services to our Risk Management clients around the world. Currently, the Global Analytics Managed Services team is present in the following locations: New York, Monterrey, Budapest, Mumbai and Manila.

Team members who work on Managed Services Projects are responsible for providing support and
solutions to a wide variety of reporting, methodology, regulatory, usage and technical needs. Specialists work directly with clients across all market segments including asset owners, asset managers, hedge funds, banks, brokers, wealth managers, and pension plans. The Specialist will monitor and analyze client portfolio data and work with the client throughout the on‐boarding and ongoing process. MSCI’s Specialists support client with our risk and analytics products, which are integrated into the client’s investment process.

The Analytics Managed Services Specialist will gain competencies in data modeling, portfolio reconciliation and reporting. As a specialist, he/she will work with several clients simultaneously in virtual teams, along with Solutions Team, Implementation Team, Product Team, Data Team and Risk Consultants.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Confirm data coverage for securities and benchmarks that clients wish to model by analyzing requirements and collaborating with internal teams responsible for maintaining datasets and databases.
  • Consult with clients on portfolio data modeling best practices, providing guidance on input data formats, content requirements across instrument and asset types, and the terms and conditions required to accurately represent portfolio holdings.
  • Advise clients on best practices for applying proxy information and mapping portfolio holdings to appropriate risk factor datasets, including explaining how modeling and mapping configuration choices may impact risk results and reporting.
  • Support clients with data conformance and validation testing by reviewing input files for proper formatting and modeling requirements, analyzing processing logs, and validating portfolio data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and manage workflows to ensure the proper setup of client configuration files, including appropriate rules for the terms and conditions enrichment of portfolio data.
  • Assist clients in reviewing the accuracy and quality of risk and compliance reports, applying knowledge of product analytics, reporting capabilities, and methodologies for transforming and integrating risk analytics into standard reporting services.
  • Provide direct support to global clients via phone and email, including analysis of reject remediation and market value (MV) reconciliation activities, as well as investigating significant changes in risk statistics and other analytical results.
  • Provide initial product training and guidance to new users within client organizations, helping them effectively understand and utilize our products and services.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal stakeholders, providing client feedback and collaborating with Sales & Consultants, Research, Product Management, Finance, and Product Delivery teams.
  • Partner with the Sales team to assess client implementation requirements and identify the contractual arrangements needed to support successful implementation.
  • Contribute to AI-driven projects and initiatives focused on innovation, automation, operational efficiency, and the continuous improvement of global practices.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in a client-facing role within the financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Self-reliant, proactive, adaptable, and a fast learner, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of financial products and markets, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and financial risk management, particularly market risk.
  • Good understanding of portfolio management theory and risk management techniques.
  • Technical proficiency in Python and SQL, with knowledge of AI prompting and generative AI tools.
  • Knowledge of and experience with a variety of information technologies, data tools, and systems is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Advanced qualifications or professional certifications in Finance, such as an M.Sc., MBA, CFA, FRM, or PRM, are considered an advantage.
