The Sustainability & Climate (S&C) Engineering Team is responsible for designing and building scalable, cloud-native data platforms that power the firm’s sustainability and climate analytics. The team develops distributed microservices, data ingestion frameworks, and processing pipelines that handle large-scale ESG and sustainability datasets with high accuracy and reliability.
Key team objectives include:
Building and maintaining cloud-based microservices for large-scale data processing.
Designing efficient, distributed data systems in the public cloud (GCP / Azure).
Managing data pipelines, catalog, and data lake environments for high-performance analytics.
Ensuring data quality, security, and availability for client-facing applications.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainability and climate data solutions at scale.
Design, develop, and maintain Java and Spring Boot microservices for sustainability and climate data platforms.
Develop and optimize cloud-native data processing pipelines and APIs to ensure scalability and performance.
Collaborate with data engineers and business teams to integrate data from multiple sources into standardized frameworks.
Support and enhance the Enhanced Feed module, ensuring accurate and timely data delivery to clients.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle — requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
Troubleshoot production issues, ensuring high system reliability and minimal downtime.
Adhere to best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud deployment automation.
Contribute to documentation, code reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
trong proficiency in Java (preferably Java 17+) and Spring Boot for backend development.
Experience building and maintaining distributed, data-intensive platforms in a cloud environment (GCP / Azure).
Hands-on experience with REST APIs, microservice architecture, and event-driven systems.
Familiarity with big data frameworks (Spark, Databricks) and distributed processing concepts.
Working knowledge of database technologies (SQL / NoSQL) and data modeling.
Exposure to DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
