Your Team Responsibilities

The MSCI Indexed Investments & Solutions team is part of OneMSCI coverage team with primary objective to provide clarity on the investable products (primarily ETFs & Passive Funds) linked to the MSCI Index ecosystem including insights on index construction methodologies along with detailed analysis on Global Markets. The team also develops, analyses and commercialises macro related themes by helping clients to identify suitable MSCI linked products to express their views on a portfolio level but also better understand explicit and implicit dependencies.

Further, the team is also responsible for the development of new investable strategies which are based on best practices and innovation. We deploy new data signals and analytical models for prototyping investable indexed strategies prior to production.

The appropriate candidate will be asked to primarily work with Wealth Managers, Private Banks and Asset Managers in Germany with main focus on promoting MSCI’s IP and ultimately provide transparency on the indexes tracked by the corresponding ETFs. The candidate will be asked to interact with CIOs, Portfolio Managers, Fund Selectors, Portfolio Construction and Quant/Research & Strategy Teams while also be covering a wide spectrum of indexes across Equity, Fixed income (E.g. Sector, Factor, Emerging Markets, Sustainable indexes) Alternativess but also multi-asset class indexed strategies. Part of the role would require a strong relationship management and part of the role would be focus on developing technical expertise around MSCI’s investment capabilities and innovation. On top, the successful candidate would need to build solid relationships with MSCI strategic ETF partners and work with the respective Sales and Strategy teams to jointly promote MSCI linked ETFs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Promote MSCI’s linked ETF strategies and grow Asset Based Fee (ABF) business.
  • Working with Wealth Managers, Private Banks and Asset Managers in Germany but also strategic ETF partners.
  • Be entrepreneurial in efforts to establish and build upon client relationships, especially key investment personnel and product-related decision makers.
  • Promote new Indexed Strategies spanning across different asset classes (equities, Fixed Income, Multi-Asset Class and Real Assets).
  • Collaborate with other coverage teams (Index Sales, Analytics, Private Assets, Real Estate, Sustainability & Climate) and provide market insights, develop use-cases (cross leverage the analysis conducted) and cross selling opportunities.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of clients’ strategic product initiatives, as well
  • Coordinate efforts and initiatives by collaborating with existing specialists, senior account managers, product, research, marketing and other teams.
  • Support management with business reporting and operating plan/strategy execution.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Minimum 10 years of experience within asset management, private banking or a related investment-focused environment.
  • Experience in portfolio management, fund selection, investment strategy, portfolio construction or a similar investment role.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, portfolio implementation and index-based investing, including ETFs and mutual funds.
  • Knowledge of equity, fixed income, factor, sustainability and climate, thematic and multi-asset investment approaches.
  • Ability to engage credibly with senior investment professionals and communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate investment insights into client-focused discussions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
  • Existing relationships within the German and Swiss wealth management or private banking community are advantageous.
  • Programming knowledge (Python, VBA or SQL) is beneficial but not required.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools is an advantage.
  • Fluency in German and English. Impeccable attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and an ability to run multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ideally knowledge of Python, Vba and SQL but not a prerequisite
  • Proficiency in AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude.
