Your Team Responsibilities

As part of MSCI’s EMEA Analytics team, the EMEA Banking Sales Specialist will focus exclusively on commercial banks and play a key role in growing our presence across the region. This role centers on engaging banking institutions across the region, particularly Tier 2 and Tier 3 banks, to deliver MSCI’s risk-focused Analytics solutions which support key functions such as market risk, counterparty risk and regulatory reporting.

Success in this role will be measured by the ability to drive business development and expand MSCI’s Analytics footprint within the commercial banking sector. This is a highly collaborative role, requiring close coordination with MSCI’s Generalist Sales, Client Consultants, Product Management, Marketing and other internal stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions to banking clients.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Drive New Business: Identify, qualify, and advance commercial opportunities in market risk, counterparty risk and regulatory reporting solutions.
  • Deliver Against Sales Goals: Contribute directly to the new business revenue targets of the Analytics business. Maintain a high-quality pipeline, actively progress opportunities and take ownership of closing deals.
  • Build Ecosystem Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships across the EMEA commercial banking ecosystem including risk managers, regulators and consultants. Raise MSCI’s profile, uncover and seize new opportunities and strengthen our position in the banking risk space.
  • Strategic Client Engagement: Lead focused discussions with key stakeholders within banks to understand needs, position MSCI’s value, tailor engagements and navigate a competitive landscape of banking risk and analytics providers.
  • Partner Across Teams: Collaborate closely with MSCI’s generalist sales force, product specialists and client consultants to scale outreach and support within strategic accounts.
  • Ensure Sales Excellence: Maintain accurate pipeline tracking in Salesforce, contribute to account planning, and uphold high standards of client engagement throughout the sales process.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience working with or selling into commercial banks. Familiarity with market risk, counterparty risk or regulatory reporting is essential.
  • Relationship Builder: Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders, from banking risk teams to consultants and regulators.
  • Proactive and Curious: Self-starter who is intellectually curious and eager to engage with evolving risk and regulatory trends in banking.
  • Clear Communicator: Able to explain technical concepts clearly and adapt communication style to different audiences.
  • Analytics Literacy: Strong understanding of banking risk analytics, with the ability to engage confidently on topics such as Value at Risk, stress testing, exposure metrics, counterparty risk simulations and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FRTB, SA-CCR). Able to translate complex analytics into meaningful discussions with risk stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Acumen: Familiar with regulations, able to navigate frameworks and identify related opportunities.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Comfortable working across teams to amplify impact and support shared sales goals.
  • Tech Comfort: Familiarity with Salesforce and AI tools like ChatGPT is a plus.
  • Language Skills: additional languages will be additive for working across EMEA markets.
