Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI’s Multi Asset Investment R&D group is expanding its ambition in the Wealth client segment. Building on MSCI’s established capabilities in Multi Asset Strategies and Total Portfolio Solutions, the team is seeking an Executive Director to adapt, position, and promote these solutions for Wealth audiences—including private banks, wealth managers, advisers, platforms, and model portfolio providers.

Your Key Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities

The Executive Director will have end-to-end ownership of Wealth-facing solution adaptation and promotion. Key responsibilities include:

  • Translate institutional multi-asset capabilities into Wealth-ready solutions: Reframe MSCI Multi Asset Strategies and Total Portfolio Solutions into implementable Wealth propositions (e.g., model portfolios, risk-based allocations, outcome-oriented solutions), with appropriate constraints, benchmarks, and governance considerations.
  • Own the Wealth narrative and positioning: Develop clear messaging and supporting content that explains why MSCI’s multi-asset approach is differentiated—grounded in research, transparent methodology, and practical portfolio outcomes.
  • Partner with product to shape roadmap and packaging: Provide Wealth-segment requirements to product teams, influence prioritization (features, reporting, analytics, implementation tooling), and help define the “whole product” needed for adoption.
  • Drive external engagement and adoption: Represent MSCI in senior Wealth client meetings, industry forums, and solution workshops—effectively serving as a visible subject-matter leader for multi-asset portfolio solutions in the Wealth channel.
  • Create scalable commercialization assets: Build repeatable materials—solution overviews, implementation guides, client-ready exhibits, and portfolio diagnostics—that enable distribution teams to consistently communicate and deliver the value proposition.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to execute at speed: Lead cross-functional initiatives across research, engineering, marketing, and sales to deliver Wealth-ready enhancements and high-quality external outputs while maintaining analytical integrity.
  • Maintain rigor and credibility: Ensure all Wealth adaptations preserve research integrity and are supported by robust back-testing, risk attribution, and clear explanation of assumptions, limitations, and intended use cases.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

Academic and Professional Background

  • Advanced degree in finance, economics, engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field; CFA is a plus.
  • Deep experience in multi-asset portfolio construction and/or total portfolio frameworks (strategic allocation, risk budgeting, factor tilts, overlays, rebalancing, implementation considerations).
  • Strong familiarity with the Wealth ecosystem: model portfolios, platforms, advisor workflows, investment committees, regulatory/appropriateness considerations, and scalable delivery.

Mindset and Career Stage

  • Senior leader (Executive Director level) with a track record of building and promoting investment solutions, ideally at the intersection of research + product + clients.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity; capable of shaping the playbook rather than following one.
  • Strong bias toward execution—able to turn research capabilities into client-ready deliverables quickly and to a high standard.
  • Commercially minded and client-obsessed, without compromising on analytical integrity.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent understanding of multi-asset risk models, scenario analysis, performance attribution, and portfolio analytics; familiarity with systematic strategies and factor-based construction is a plus.
  • Ability to synthesize across datasets, research outputs, and tools—turning complex analytics into simple, decision-useful insights.
  • Technical fluency (e.g., Python/R or strong quantitative orientation) sufficient to engage deeply with researchers and validate results; not necessarily a pure developer role.
  • Uncompromising attention to detail and quality control in external-facing materials.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Outstanding storyteller—able to craft compelling Wealth-ready narratives from MSCI research and data, and communicate confidently to senior, non-technical audiences.
  • Strong presenter and facilitator: effective in client workshops, solution reviews, and industry events.
  • Proven cross-functional collaborator who builds trust across research, product, engineering, marketing, and distribution—aligning diverse stakeholders around a common Wealth go-to-market objective.
