Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI’s Private Assets business is growing rapidly, and we’re looking for a Product Operations & Governance Manager to help shape how the organization scales, operates, and delivers.

Sitting within the Private Assets COO organization, this is a high-impact role at the intersection of strategy, product, operations, and execution. You’ll help build the frameworks, governance, and operating rhythms that turn strategic priorities into action—enabling teams to move faster, make better decisions, and deliver with greater clarity and accountability.

You won’t simply step into an established operating model, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape and improve it.

Working closely with leaders and teams across Product, Engineering, Program Management, Finance, Marketing, Coverage, and Business Technology, you’ll connect the dots across the organization and help create a more scalable, transparent, and effective way of working.

Your work will help:

• Turn strategy into execution by creating structure around key priorities and initiatives.

Your Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll sit at the heart of the Private Assets Product organization, helping translate strategy into execution and creating the operating discipline that enables teams to move faster and scale effectively.

You’ll have the opportunity to shape how Product teams work, not just maintain existing processes.

Take ownership of the operating framework that brings structure, clarity, and accountability to the Product organization.

You’ll:

• Own and evolve the Product operating model, governance framework, and execution standards as the business grows.

• Establish clear and practical governance, stage gates, and decision-making processes that help teams move efficiently from idea to execution.

• Identify opportunities to simplify how we work, eliminate unnecessary friction, and improve collaboration across teams.

• Build scalable processes that can support an increasingly complex and growing Private Assets portfolio.

Create the visibility and execution discipline that help Product leaders make better decisions and teams deliver against their priorities.

You’ll:

• Help ensure strategic roadmap initiatives are clearly defined, prioritized, and connected to business outcomes from ideation through delivery.

• Partner with Product leaders to strengthen portfolio planning and improve the quality and consistency of information used to make decisions.

• Drive effective use of Jira Product Discovery and Jira, ensuring workflows and data provide meaningful insight—not simply reporting for reporting’s sake.

• Give leadership a clear view of roadmap progress, dependencies, risks, and overall execution health.

Help build a best-in-class product lifecycle that turns promising ideas into valuable solutions for our clients.

You’ll:

• Bring greater rigor to early-stage product ideas by ensuring they have a clear problem to solve, defined customer value, business ownership, and commercial rationale.

• Enable effective governance forums through thoughtful preparation, clear decision documentation, and disciplined follow-through.

• Connect information across the portfolio so leaders can quickly understand what matters, what’s moving, and where attention is needed.

• Help teams navigate the journey from ideation through development and delivery with greater clarity and accountability.

As the Private Assets organization grows, you’ll help ensure our processes, knowledge, and best practices grow with it.

You’ll:

• Create practical playbooks, SOPs, governance standards, and operating guides that make it easier for teams to work consistently and effectively.

• Develop onboarding and enablement materials for Product and Program Management teams.

• Lead training on operating model governance, tools, processes, and execution best practices.

• Build a culture of knowledge sharing and operational excellence across a global organization.

We’re looking for someone who won’t simply follow the process—you’ll help us continuously improve it.

You’ll:

• Identify opportunities to improve dashboards, reporting, tooling, workflows, and ways of working.

• Bring the right teams together to solve operational challenges and implement improvements.

• Take improvement initiatives from idea through implementation, measuring their impact and driving sustained adoption.

• Challenge complexity and look for smarter, simpler ways to help teams execute.

Private Assets is an important growth area for MSCI, and scaling successfully requires more than great products, it requires a strong operating foundation behind them. Your work will help create that foundation.

We’re looking for a highly organized, analytical and proactive problem-solver who enjoys bringing structure to complexity and making things work better.

You don’t need to have done everything on this list before. We’re interested in people who combine strong execution skills with curiosity, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn and who are excited by the opportunity to help shape how a growing global business operates.

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in areas such as Product Operations, Product Management, Program Management, Business Operations, Management Consulting, Financial Services, or a related field.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or another relevant discipline.

• Experience working with Jira, Jira Product Discovery (JPD), or similar product and workflow management tools. Experience improving governance, workflows, or data quality within these platforms is a plus.

• A strong instinct for process improvement you can look at how something works today, identify what could be better, and help turn improvements into practical, scalable solutions.

• Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to connect the dots, manage competing priorities, and keep important initiatives moving forward.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across functions and levels of seniority.

• A track record of getting things done through others—bringing teams together, following through on commitments, and creating accountability without relying on formal authority.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with dashboards, reporting, or business intelligence tools.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to turn complex information into clear, concise, and actionable insights.

• An interest in private markets, investment solutions, financial data, and institutional investing. Deep expertise isn’t required, but curiosity and a desire to learn are important.

• A growth mindset and continuous-improvement mentality. You’re comfortable asking “Why do we do it this way?” and helping find a better answer.

You’ll be particularly successful in this role if you’re someone who can move comfortably between the big picture and the details. You can understand what leadership is trying to achieve, translate that into practical actions, and work across teams to make it happen.

You’re comfortable with ambiguity, naturally look for ways to create clarity and structure, and don’t wait for someone else to identify what needs to be improved.
