Your Team Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to manage the end-to-end transformation of our data supply chain and engineering platforms into a modern, cloud-native, AI-enabled data stack. This role will be responsible for driving large-scale, multi-year initiatives that replace legacy data pipelines, evaluate and onboard new data sources, modernize data engineering practices, and enable advanced AI-enabled production across the firm.

The ideal candidate is deeply technical, comfortable operating at executive altitude, and proven at delivering complex data and platform transformations in regulated, data-intensive environments such as financial information services.

Your Key Responsibilities

Data & Platform Transformation Leadership

  • Own and drive the delivery of a comprehensive modernization program covering data evaluation, ingestion, processing, storage, and consumption on a cloud-native stack.
  • Lead the transition from legacy and on-prem data systems to modern architectures (e.g., cloud data lakes/lakehouses, modern orchestration).
  • Partner with data engineering, platform engineering, operations, security, and AI teams to define and execute the transformation roadmap.

Program & Delivery Management

  • Plan and manage a large, cross-functional program with multiple interdependent workstreams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Establish clear milestones, success metrics, risk management plans, and dependency tracking across data supply, engineering, and downstream consumers.

New Data Source Enablement

  • Lead programs to identify, onboard, and operationalize new data sources at scale.
  • Coordinate the data engineering works from design to execution as well as new content evaluation, testing, and implementation.
  • Ensure data platform build supports future AI, analytics, and product innovation.

AI Enablement

  • Ensure the modern data stack is designed to support AI and other deterministically automated use cases.
  • Partner with data operations and AI teams to remove data bottlenecks, improve feature availability, and enable faster experimentation and production deployment.
  • Drive alignment between platform capabilities and evolving AI strategies.

Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

  • Act as a trusted partner to senior engineering leaders, data leaders, product managers, and executive stakeholders.
  • Translate complex technical work into clear business outcomes, trade-offs, and investment decisions.
  • Provide transparent communication on progress, risks, and delivery outcomes.

Governance, Quality, and Resilience

  • Embed strong data quality, observability, lineage, security, and governance practices into delivery plans.
  • Ensure solutions meet regulatory, audit, and operational resilience requirements expected of a financial data firm.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

Qualifications and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in technical program or project management, with significant experience leading data platform or data engineering transformations.
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale, cloud-based data initiatives in financial information services, fintech, or other regulated, data-intensive industries.
  • Strong understanding of modern data architectures, including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), data lakes/lakehouses, ETL/ELT, and orchestration tools.
  • Proven ability to manage complex dependencies across engineering, data, security, legal, and compliance teams.
  • Experience working closely with data engineers, platform engineers, content subject matter experts, and data scientists.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced degree is a plus.

Technical & Domain Skills

  • Cloud-native data platforms and modern data stacks
  • Data engineering concepts (pipelines, schemas, lineage, quality, observability)
  • AI/ML data enablement and analytics readiness
  • Systems integration and legacy modernization
  • Market data or financial information expertise

Program & Leadership Skills

  • Large-scale program planning and execution
  • Risk, dependency, and stakeholder management
  • Executive-level communication and influence
  • Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies

Personal Attributes

  • Highly structured, outcome-driven, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Strong technical curiosity and ability to challenge design decisions constructively
  • Calm and decisive under pressure in complex delivery environments
  • Bias toward action while maintaining rigor and quality
