Experienced Internal Auditor - IT Audit

Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI is seeking an ambitious professional to join the global Internal Audit organization headquartered in New York.

Internal Audit is focused on the evaluation and improvement of the effectiveness of MSCI’s governance, risk management and internal control processes. Internal Audit provides members of the boards and senior management with assurance that helps them fulfil their duties to the organization and its stakeholders.

The IT Auditor is a global position, based in Budapest.

Your Key Responsibilities

The IT Auditor is primarily responsible for assisting the planning and execution of group internal audit engagements with a focus on information technology and information security. Internal audits include operational, financial and governance related engagements, compliance assessment and other special projects.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Contribute to the development of Internal Audit’s annual audit plan. Identify emerging information technology and security risks, propose topics for audit engagements
• Take key role in planning IT audits, define audit work programs and procedures
• Execute IT audits and internal assessments in accordance with the annual plan. Assess IT and security processes and functions, application and infrastructure controls across a variety of technologies and platforms using information security standards and best practices
• Collaboration with audit team members, business and IT stakeholders, control owners in all stages of the audit engagements
• Track and support management’s remediation activities, verify effectiveness of completed actions
• Deliver high quality audit workpapers and audit reports on-time
• Support internal activities related to existing regulatory compliance and other corporate information security obligations (e.g. SoX 404, ISO27001), participate in new initiatives as they arise
• Contribute to improve internal audit methodology and procedures to enhance effectiveness of audit activities, leveraging CAAT, automation, AI

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

• BA/BS or technical diploma in information technology, engineering or relevant field
• 7+ years of experience in information technology audit, or consultancy
• Understanding of internal auditing standards, working and risk assessment practices
• Familiar with information security controls, frameworks, standards (such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, ITIL, COBIT), working practices of IT/IS operations
• Proven experience in auditing various technical components of the IT infrastructure; design and operational effectiveness of IT and information security controls and processes
• Understanding of cloud architecture and security concepts; experience in auditing cloud native technologies and solutions, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS services
• Can work independently under managers’ supervision
• Basic programming or scripting skills are a plus
• Good problem solving, proactive mindset
• Fluent in English and Hungarian
