Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI's HR Operations team is evolving how we deliver HR and talent acquisition services, combining strong operational execution with automation and AI to remove manual work from the employee and candidate lifecycle. We are looking for an HR Operations Associate who can run core HR Operations and Talent Acquisition support end-to-end, while independently building the Power Automate flows, Python scripts, and AI-assisted workflows that let the team scale efficiently. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to combine HR operations expertise with practical automation skills.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle in Workday - onboarding, transfers, confirmations, and offboarding.
  • Draft and issue offer letters, confirmation letters, and employment contracts.
  • Coordinate background verification checks for new hires and track them through to closure.
  • Handle employee queries on policies, benefits, contracts, and HR processes with accuracy and within SLAs.
  • Manage the exit process end-to-end - resignation processing, full and final settlement coordination, exit interviews, and clearance.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and data hygiene in Workday.
  • Support audits, statutory compliance checks, and monthly HR reporting/dashboards.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling, candidate communication, and offer processing end-to-end in iCIMS.
  • Maintain recruiting data hygiene - requisition tracking, candidate status updates, and pipeline reporting.
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to keep TA operations running smoothly and on time.
  • Identify manual, repetitive HR Ops/TA tasks and design automated workflows to replace them.
  • Build and maintain Power Automate flows for approvals, notifications, data transfers, and reporting.
  • Write basic Python scripts for data cleaning, reconciliation, and report generation across HR systems.
  • Use Claude (Cowork), ChatGPT, or similar AI tools to draft communications, summarize data, build lightweight dashboards, and prototype new automations.
  • Document automated workflows, maintain them as processes/systems change, and train the wider team on their use.
  • Track time saved and errors reduced through automation and report impact to HR leadership.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • 3-5 years of experience in HR Operations, HR Shared Services, or Talent Acquisition Operations.
  • Hands-on experience building workflows/automations in Microsoft Power Automate (or a comparable low-code automation tool) - able to design and ship flows independently, not just use existing ones.
  • Working knowledge of Python for basic scripting - cleaning and reconciling data, and generating reports across HR systems.
  • Practical, regular use of AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) for drafting, summarizing, and process work - comfortable prompting and iterating with AI tools.
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables) and hands-on experience with Workday HCM.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ownership, and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong written communication - comfortable drafting emails, SOPs, and stakeholder updates.
Nice to Have
  • Exposure to SharePoint, Power BI, or other Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate Desktop).
  • Prior experience building or maintaining an internal automation, chatbot, or AI-assisted workflow for an HR/People function.
