Your Team Responsibilities

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, curious, and commercially minded professional to join our team and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of MSCI’s run rate reporting.

In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of Sales, Finance, Contracts, and Revenue Recognition, reviewing sales opportunities and translating contract terms into accurate system data. You’ll gain exposure to a wide variety of deal structures, develop a strong understanding of MSCI’s commercial processes, and play an important role in supporting accurate financial reporting.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, spotting inconsistencies, working with contracts and data, and collaborating across teams. Prior experience with revenue recognition is helpful, but just as important is a willingness to learn, strong judgment, and exceptional attention to detail.

Your Key Responsibilities

As part of the team, you’ll help ensure that sales opportunities are accurately reflected in Salesforce and comply with MSCI’s Run Rate Policy and applicable revenue recognition principles.

You will:

• Review sales opportunities from contract to system, comparing contractual terms with Salesforce data such as deal term, fees, products, billing structure, and other key commercial details.
• Ensure accurate run rate reporting by applying MSCI’s Run Rate Policy consistently across both standard and non-standard transactions.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between executed contracts and Salesforce records before they impact downstream financial reporting.
• Build expertise in deal structures and revenue recognition, including the application of ASC 606 principles to commercial arrangements.
• Partner across the organization, working closely with Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders to clarify contract terms and resolve questions.
• Exercise judgment and know when to escalate, identifying complex or ambiguous transactions that require additional accounting or policy guidance.
• Create a strong audit trail by clearly documenting review conclusions, decisions, and supporting rationale.
• Play a critical role during month-end and quarter-end close, helping the team review and clear opportunities accurately and within reporting deadlines.
• Stay current on evolving policies and processes, applying updates consistently to active deal reviews.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

We’re looking for someone who combines analytical thinking with strong attention to detail. You don’t need to know everything on day one, we value people who are curious, comfortable asking questions, and motivated to build expertise!

You’ll be well positioned for success if you have:

• Exceptional attention to detail and an ability to spot inconsistencies across contracts, data, and systems.
• Confidence reading and interpreting commercial contract terms.
• Basic familiarity with revenue recognition concepts, including ASC 606, or the ability and interest to learn them quickly.
• Experience with Salesforce or another CRM, or confidence navigating and learning new systems.
• The ability to work independently and manage priorities under tight deadlines, particularly during month-end and quarter-end periods.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to document decisions clearly and concisely.
• Good judgment and confidence raising questions or escalating situations when the answer isn’t straightforward.
• A collaborative mindset and comfort working with stakeholders across different functions.

Experience in finance operations, deal desk, revenue operations, contracts, accounting, audit, or a similar environment is a plus—but it isn’t essential if you bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

This role offers much more than reviewing transactions. You’ll develop an understanding of how commercial agreements translate into financial reporting, gain exposure to different deal structures, and collaborate with teams across MSCI.
