Your Team Responsibilities

Join our Global Strategic Sourcing – Market Data Procurement team in Monterrey and gain hands-on experience supporting a global function that manages the market data, vendor relationships, contracts, and services that support MSCI's business.

Working closely with colleagues in Monterrey and Chicago, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to real projects, interact with global stakeholders and vendors, and develop experience across strategic sourcing, financial markets, procurement, data analysis, and vendor management.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • As part of the team, you will:

    • Support the integration of new acquisitions, helping ensure vendor agreements, invoices, budgets, and market data services are successfully incorporated into MSCI's processes.
    • Assist with the review and processing of new vendor agreements and renewals, gaining exposure to the commercial and operational aspects of market data procurement.
    • Help track and reconcile contract fees, invoices, and annual budgets, investigating discrepancies and maintaining accurate financial information.
    • Support key market data regulatory initiatives, including exchange policy changes and ESMA-related requirements.
    • Participate in the management and renewal of active ICE market data agreements, maintaining contract and budget information in Salesforce.
    • Contribute to strategic integration projects, including the First Street integration and other acquisition-related initiatives.
    • Communicate with Carbon Market Registries, vendors, and internal stakeholders to gather information and support sourcing activities.
    • Work with data and technology to identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate repetitive tasks, and improve operational efficiency.
    • Gain exposure to how a global organization evaluates vendors, manages market data costs, supports regulatory requirements, and makes strategic sourcing decisions.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

What We're Looking For
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or another relevant field, preferably in your 6th semester or later.
  • Strong interest in financial markets, strategic sourcing, procurement, market data, or vendor management.
  • Availability to work 30 or 40 hours per week.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work confidently with data, budgets, reports, and financial information and identify discrepancies or inconsistencies.
  • Experience with Excel; familiarity with Salesforce, SQL, data visualization, or reporting tools is a plus.
  • Interest in using AI and emerging technologies to analyze information, improve documentation, automate tasks, and increase productivity.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and an interest in collaborating with local and global teams.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn new systems, processes, and market data concepts.
  • An interest in process improvement, operational efficiency, and compliance-related work.
