Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI is seeking an ambitious professional to join the Global Internal Audit organization headquartered in New York.

The purpose of the Internal Audit department is to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services to the Audit and Risk Committee of NYSE listed MSCI Inc. and Senior Management designed to add value and improve MSCI’s operations. The mission of Internal Audit is to enhance and protect organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. The Internal Audit department helps MSCI accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes.

The Experienced Internal Auditor position is a global position, based in Budapest.

Your Key Responsibilities

The Internal Auditor is primarily responsible for assisting in the planning, execution and reporting of group internal audit engagements and championing Sarbanes Oxley (SoX 404) control assessment. Internal audits include operational, financial and governance related engagements, regulatory compliance, consulting and other special projects.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Contribute to the development of Internal Audit’s annual audit plan. Identify emerging risk trends, propose topics for audit engagements
  • Take lead role in the scoping of the audit engagements, define work programs, testing strategy and procedures
  • Execute audits and compliance assessments across operational, financial processes and functions
  • Collaborate with audit team members, business and IT stakeholders, control owners in all stages of the audit engagement
  • Track and support management’s remediation activities, verify effectiveness of completed actions
  • Deliver high quality audit workpapers and audit reports on-time
  • Perform regulatory compliance assurance activities (e.g. SoX 404, Benchmark Regulation, ESG Regulation); participate in new compliance and regulatory initiatives as they arise
  • Contribute to improve internal audit methodology and procedures to enhance effectiveness of audit activities, leveraging AI and automated audit tools (CAATs); participate in GIAS quality assessment review

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • BA/BSc diploma
  • 6+ years of experience in audit, accounting, finance, or consultancy
  • Understanding of internal auditing standards, working and risk assessment practices
  • Highly motivated, self-initiator personality with the ability to work independently with demonstrated experience in executing audit fieldworks
  • Ability to objectively and critically evaluate business scenarios, sound analytical skills
  • Good problem solving, proactive mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, fluent in Hungarian
