Celebrating Women's History Month

Established in 2013, MSCI’s Women’s Leadership Forum (WLF) has continually worked to create awareness and support the career development of women at MSCI. Each year, International Women’s Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the successes of WLF, while recognizing the achievements and contributions of women across MSCI and around the world.

This year’s theme is „Inspire Inclusion”, which not only reflects on the WLF’s commitment to encouraging authenticity and respect for all voices, but also represents the drive to nurture an environment where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered. Working to ensure that everyone feels like they are part of MSCI enables us to thrive so we can truly serve our clients the best way that we can.

To celebrate Internation Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, throughout the month of March WLF chapters are organizing a variety of events: panel discussions, book clubs, workshops, client events and many more. From New York and Monterrey all the way to Mumbai and Hong Kong, MSCI employees from across our offices will find programs to inspire them an help them connect with fellow colleagues.

As each year since 2018, this March we have launched our annual Women on Boards Report. This annual report provides an overview of the state of diversity on boards and in other corporate leadership roles across markets. This year, we expanded our lens to include racial and ethnicity data as well as gender representation at different management levels.

“In order to succeed and advance in your career, you need visibility. That’s where grassroots groups, organized and run by members of MSCI from all over the world come in. The Women’s Leadership Forum plays a key part in strengthening and promoting MSCI’s culture of inclusion and diversity, and helps create the conditions by which female empowerment, inclusion and innovation can flourish at MSCI globally.”

“I started the WLF chapter in Zurich in order to advocate for gender diversity which is close to my heart. As a company, we are making great progress but there is always room for improvement.”

“Being able to deliver your opinions and suggestions without hesitation is the most obvious measure to assess whether a company perceives inclusivity as an important part of their culture. Even as a junior employee, I got a call from a board member just to catch up. It was a pleasant surprise; it’s those actions from senior management and board members that speak louder than words.”
