Senior Associate - Revenue Accounting and Reporting

Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI is seeking an ambitious professional to join the Finance organization as a Senior Associate of Revenue Accounting and Reporting, responsible for the accounting, reporting and analysis related to MSCI’s Private Capital Solutions (“PCS”) business. PCS represents a growing, transformative, and industry-leading segment for MSCI, presenting an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing portion of MSCI’s business. This role will be responsible for performing various aspects of the financial and management accounting, analytics and reporting related to Subscription Revenues arising from various contracts with clients. This position will take an active role in supporting process improvement and transformation initiatives related to revenue accounting and reporting functions. This role will also be responsible for identifying and implementing enhancement opportunities to increase efficiency, and support special projects as they arise including process transformations, system implementations and developing processes to account for new revenue contracts.

This position will have exciting and unique opportunities to work with a diverse set of finance and non-finance stakeholders in a dynamic and collaborative environment, while continuing to advance his/her career at MSCI.

Your Key Responsibilities

Scope of Responsibility /Expectation:

• Collaborate closely with key business partners, for example, Product Finance, Sales and Billing to deliver critical business initiatives
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities that provide efficiency and better controls
• Support revenue accounting system integrations and their related processes
• Conduct contract review and ensure proper revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606 and MSCI’s policy
• Perform revenue operations, which includes execution of monthly revenue close, variance analysis, reporting, and account reconciliations for revenue and related accounts agreements
• Document procedures and policies governing existing and future revenue accounting processes
• Support audits performed by internal audit, external audit, and SOX teams
• Contribute and support special projects as assigned, including finance transformation projects

Specific Knowledge & Skills

• Good speaking and writing skills in English
• Finance and accounting background, preferably with prior experience of the finance or SaaS industry in a similar role
• Investigative and creative approach to problem solving
• High Attention to detail
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently, with initiative and to demonstrate ownership for tasks
• Proactive personality
• Advanced Excel skills, SAP and Microsoft Power BI experience a plus
