Carla Reyes

When Carla joined MSCI, she stepped into a team with an important role: ensuring that once clients sign an agreement with MSCI, their access to our data and solutions is set up smoothly and efficiently. As part of the Client Onboarding team, she helps ensure the client experience comes first. 

Streamlining onboarding through collaboration 

Currently, Carla’s team is focused on improving the client onboarding process for our Sustainability and Climate solutions. For her this means coordinating across multiple teams: talking to colleagues from Sales and Relationship Management to gather client feedback, catching up with the Permissions team to understand roadblocks they’re experiencing, and consulting with Salesforce developers to find the most efficient ways to resolve issues and automate processes. 

“There are a lot of moving pieces – permissions, platforms, timelines. Our goal is to streamline the coordination between the teams, enhancing the client experience.” 

Client experience in focus 

But Carla and her team see onboarding as more than just systems and timelines: it’s a chance to set clients up for success from day one. By solving challenges, streamlining internal processes and anticipating client priorities, they work to ensure a smooth and positive experience as clients begin their journey with MSCI. Because a strong start helps lay the foundations for long-term client success. 

“We need to understand our clients — why they want to prioritize certain deliveries over others, and how it affects their business. It’s really about seeing things from their perspective.” 

Learning with intention 

With only a few years of experience so far, Carla sees her move to MSCI as an excellent opportunity to grow, and she’s been intentional about making the most of it. Understanding concepts related to Sustainability and Climate solutions is crucial to understanding our clients’ needs and goals, so she is committed to deepening her knowledge of the field. 

“I’ve done a lot of internal training, and I’m currently working toward a certification – all supported by MSCI. That kind of investment in your learning makes a huge difference, especially early in your career.” 

Finding community and connection 

Though Carla’s immediate team is spread across the globe with her manager based in Canada and her teammate in Mexico, she has found a strong sense of community in both the Manila office and beyond. 

“Even though my teammates aren’t based in Manila, I never feel disconnected. We have weekly photo-sharing sessions to help us stay close, and locally, the culture is amazing: there’s always something going on, from professional and social events to sports clubs. I have even signed up to a mentorship program hosted by one of our employee groups!”
