MSCI, Inc. seeks Vice President, Midwest ESG and Climate Sales in Chicago, IL to manage a portfolio of approximately 90 Asset Management and Wealth Management clients, with full responsibility for revenue generation and retention related to MSCI’s ESG and Climate data. Prospect new clients in the Midwest Region.
Handle all aspects of Sales activity including: opportunity identification, gathering account intelligence, demoing data as needed, negotiating commercial agreements, garnering internal approvals, approving and delivering contracts, and negotiating renewals. Act as local expert on ESG and Climate data for clients’ use in the portfolio construction process, reporting and regulatory needs, risk management and other uses. Act as primary point for clients when coordinating additional MSCI Resources, such as Research, Product and Consultants. Create and maintain deep understanding of specific needs of the Asset Management client base in the Midwest and share internally with consultants, product managers and research. Manage one internal sales Associate who will be responsible for maintaining records in Salesforce, working with sales operations on new and existing contracts, conduct local research, and other supporting tasks.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Economics, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: working with Investment Management and Wealth Management industry, including portfolio construction, risk management and product design; working with commercial contracts and specifically related to IP rights; utilizing experience with Environmental, Social and Governance “ESG” and Climate data in the investment management industry; identifying how Asset Managers ingest and integrate ESG, Sustainability and Climate data and support those same efforts for new clients; utilizing experience understanding internal structure of investment, research and compliance teams within Asset Management firms to develop Sustainability and Climate solutions that fit their needs; supporting Asset Managers to ensure compliance with latest regulatory framework on Sustainable investments, including regulatory framework from European Commission and United States. 10% travel required nationally. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site. Offered salary is between $162,000 and $162,000 per year. 40 hours per week.
