PossAbilities Stepathon India

MSCI India recently concluded the inaugural edition of “PossAbilities Stepathon”, coinciding with Global Disability Day. This month-long celebration brought together 390 employees, forming 79 teams, in a remarkable showcase of resilience, allyship, teamwork, and determination.

Powerful Kickoff

The event kicked off with a powerful flag-off by Ramesh Shukla, a national level gold medalist, athlete, swimmer cyclist and marathon runner, setting an empowering tone for the Stepathon. His powerful story shared on the inaugural day, resonated with attendees, highlighting the strength found in overcoming challenges and proving that anything is possible.

The event also featured Shalini Saraswathi, quadruple amputee athlete, who shared her story of how she ran a 10-kilometer marathon, and overcame some of the worst that life had in store for her. Celebrating World Disability Day, her presence added profound significance to the event, inspiring participants to push their limits.

Faye Woodhead, Head of Talent and co-leader of the global All Abilities ERG, joined the call to share insights into MSCI's initiatives globally in the All Abilities space, further enriching the event with a broader perspective.

Engagement

This event facilitated widespread participation and engagement, connecting individuals across locations to share, motivate, challenge, and inspire each other. Participants, ranging from seasoned athletes to first-time walkers, showcased the inclusivity that became the hallmark of the event, breaking down barriers associated with physical abilities.

Highlights

Participants collectively covered an astounding distance of 83,000+ kilometers in 33 days, averaging over 2,500 kilometers per day and an impressive 8,500 steps daily per participant. These staggering numbers not only underscored the commitment of the participants but also the remarkable success of the event.

The PossAbilities Stepathon wasn't merely successful; it was a resounding testament to overcoming challenges through unity and determination.
