Sales Specialist - Boston, MA
The New England Asset Management Client Coverage team is looking for a sales specialist to represent MSCI Analytical platforms and data solutions to both existing and prospective clients. This position requires a strong understanding of the asset management industry, ability to build and maintain relationships within the asset management community at the Portfolio Manager, CIO, CRO and analyst level. In order to represent MSCI’s analytics well, it’s important to demonstrate the ability to learn or to have experience with Risk, Performance and/or Optimization platforms and clearly communicate why a client would benefit from an MSCI solution. The position requires proactive sales/prospecting engagement as well as relationship management with existing clients. In order to be successful, the sales specialist must be able to establish a strong network internally across MSCI business lines (Index, ESG, Real Estate) as well as other functional areas (Research, Legal, Product, Client Service and Senior Relationship Managers).
- The Sales Specialist is charged with growing MSCI Analytics business to Asset Managers within New England. This will be achieved by selling new and/or additional services to existing clients, providing services/products to new clients as well as working closely with the client service team to ensure existing clients find value in continuing their commercial relationship with MSCI.
- Knowledge of the asset management industry is paramount (understanding the connection between asset owners, invest consultants, sell side and buy side). Strong communication (email, phone, Video WebEx, and in person presentations) as well as interpersonal skills are required. In addition, a working understanding of front office, middle office and back office analytics is helpful as is experience with Financial Technology and Market Data.
Desired experience and qualifications:
· The ideal candidate will have 4-8yrs of client facing experience within the financial services industry.
- BS/BA in Economics/ Finance/ Math/ Physics/Engineering/Business preferred. Progress toward or obtainment of CFA preferred. MBA and/or other advanced degrees a plus.
