Position Overview Project Blue will be responsible for leading and driving innovation for Indexes, Analytics, ESG, and Real-Estate product lines. This position plays a leadership role in driving growth for MSCI�s business. He/she will be a global powerhouse focusing on positioning and differentiation, taking responsibility for defining, planning and creating service-line messaging and tools to better position MSCI�s capabilities. His/her core focus will be the differentiation of these global projects through incisive marketing for increased uptake and ultimately market-share and profitability. This will permit institutional investors access to an exciting global portfolio. Reporting to the CMO, this individual will be joining an organization that is growing at an extraordinary pace with an impressive global marketing, commercial and sales teams. Scope of Responsibility Create, review and update specific positioning, messaging, content and sales tools that help to qualify and differentiate offers. Work with client-facing teams and subject-matter experts to ensure client-feedback, investment insights and responses to sales objections are considered in our services-focused marketing materials. Collect and analyze feedback from across the products on the usage of sales tools, identifying which are most effective and agree how to develop them further with stakeholders. Provides information with which to understand the attributes and needs of key client segments and develops ways to reach each segment with the right value proposition Develops and manages marketing plans to stimulate ongoing revenue growth and to support special events and initiatives, such as new launches Produces meaningful metrics for the Index, Analytics, ESG, Real-Estate products and offers fact-based insights to help guide strategies for brand positioning, client retention and development, pricing, innovation, industry partnerships, and cost-effective methods for attracting new business to the firm. Directs the work of marketing team members to ensure that it is on-target and meets quality standards. This work includes: Industry and client research Competitive intelligence gathering Message development Media outreach Advertising Content development for the website, sales presentations, marketing collateral and RFP responses Marketing of thought capital (papers, videos, speaking engagements, etc.) Events Works with marketing managers for key clients, such as iShares and Fidelity Investments, on joint marketing initiatives Collaborates with Research and Product line managers around the world to identify marketing challenges and opportunities and find productive ways to address them Works with Product Managers, the CMO and the Finance team to build and manage marketing budgets Desired Qualifications Highly developed critical thinking/analytical skills; ability to evaluate business challenges and develop solutions to deliver profitable business growth. Adaptable and able to work in a changing environment. Experience in marketing to both institutions (pension funds, asset managers, hedge funds, brokers, insurance companies, banks) and financial advisors. Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to executives and a variety of audiences, translating complex initiatives into materials and products that effectively communicate core values and goals. Ability to give concise, compelling verbal presentations to senior decision-makers, and to respond quickly and thoughtfully to challenges and pushback in a meeting. Ability to handle significant workload with strong project management skills to meet aggressive deadlines. Must have an operational ability to effectively perform at all levels of the business with a proven track-record of excellence working with executive-level clients. Previous success in a similar position at an organization(s) renowned for Marketing and Sales excellence. Strategic thinker, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and proven ability to execute at the tactical level while understanding the larger picture. Organized, detail-oriented and capable of advancing projects simultaneously.
