Position Overview

Index Structured Products Specialist Sales

Scope of Responsibility /Expectation

Based in Frankfurt, the Structured Products Specialist will be responsible to drive the growth of our index business specifically with derivatives and structured products in Germany and Switzerland. This includes promoting the usage of MSCI indexes as underlying for derivatives with issuers, but also the usage of such MSCI-based products in asset and wealth managers. Working with MSCI clients also means helping them to understand our research publications, apply our knowledge about institutional investors and differentiate our products against the competition.

This position is a highly visible role working in a targeted, sales driven environment. The index sales specialist will be involved various aspects of account management including: senior level relationship management, product demonstrations, contract negotiation, and increasing revenue through new sales and strategic account planning.

Scope of Responsibility /Expectation

  • Relationship management with existing clients, detect up-selling potential.
  • Establish new client relationships and win new clients       
  • Position new MSCI products and MSCI research publications       
  • Strategic Planning within account coverage and territory       
  • Answer detailed client inquiries about MSCI products and methodologies        
  • Achieve targeted goals       
  • Maintain accurate records regarding account visits, client conversations, etc.       
  • Pro-actively solicit client feedback regarding new initiatives and future product development       
  • Provide feedback from clients to Management, Research and Product Development

Specific Knowledge & Skills:       

  • Fluent in German and English
  • Good overview of the European financial market and its trends   
  • Knowledge of derivatives/structured products       
  • Familiar with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Desired Experience:       

  • In depth Sales experience in the structured products market       
  • Experience in working with Asset Managers, Private Banks, Bank, Broker/Dealers       
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills       
  • Superior communication and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects       
  • A self-starter with the ability to work individually and within a team - Highly motivated

Desired Qualifications:       

  • Bachelors Degree required. MBA, Masters Degree and/or CFA charter holder would be a plus
