Position Overview: MSCI ESG Research, part of MSCI Inc, is seeking to expand its ESG Ratings team with new positions in Manila. An ESG Rating Analyst is expected to have a good level of awareness on general ESG trends, as well as the various lines of business companies are involved in. The analyst will be assigned to work on project-based research. The core responsibility is to research and obtain information on a company's geographic and business line concentration using a variety of sources including annual reports, proxy statements, quantitative data feeds from third-party providers, investor presentations, news publications, and other reports published by the company itself or its associates. Scope of Responsibility /Expectation: � Searching for, and procuring, and processing data on companies' geographic and business segments using multiple methods, techniques, and sources. � Capturing and transforming raw data into meaningful information. � Working with different types of information sources (i.e. lengthy annual reports, websites, quantitative data feeds, web crawlers), types of information (i.e. quantitative data, key performance indicators, prose narratives), topics or subject matters (i.e. traditional financial risk, corporate governance, and sustainability) and types of analysis (i.e. rules-based, subjective analysis, written summaries). Specific Knowledge & Skills: � Can summarize/ break down complex information into simpler terms/ units of data � Assertive and can easily be trained � Strong attention to detail and analytical skills � Ability to work on tight deadlines � Ability to work within in a multi-cultural environment � Ability to work under minimum supervision. Self-starter and highly adaptable. � Good oral and written communication skills Desired Experience: � Experience on the following industry or area of expertise: o ESG/Sustainability Research or business research o Relevant public policy or academic or NGO experience Desired Qualifications: � Bachelors' degree required; Mandarin/Chinese language specialist with prior work-experience
